HILTON ORGANISATION WELCOMES FULL TIME PHYSIOTHERAPIST

19 Jan

She initially commenced assisting at Hilton Organisation, through an agreement with the Physiotherapy Department of the CWM Hospital. During which time Ms Devi was instrumental in the establishment of the organisation’s physiotherapy department.

She completed her Degree in Physiotherapy and graduated from the Fiji School of Medicine. Ms Devi brings with her 8 years of experience and has come from the Colonial War Memorial Hospital.

In 2013, Ms Devi underwent training conducted by a Physiotherapist from the Australian Youth Ambassadors for Development (AYAD), where she was further trained in treating children with disabilities. “I feel very passionate and also very excited about this wonderful opportunity for being a full-time physiotherapist at the Hilton Organization.

“As a physiotherapist I hope to devise a special programme to suit each child’s needs based on their level of disability.”

Ms Devi also intends to provide advice to parents and teachers regarding fitting of equipment to improve the child’s mobility, skills and function, and working towards providing hydrotherapy programmes together with home visits.

The children at our two schools are indeed fortunate to have on hand a full time Physiotherapist. This will complement the multidisciplinary team approach set up by the Organisation in order to better support the teaching and learning of children with disabilities.
